GameOfThrones 7 - Descending from Dragonstone

Like in every Season there are a couple of shots that require a different approach because the 3D does not fully cover/ is not build for this angle or there is just not enough time to build it in 3D. This is when we finish up with a mattepainting. We try to use as much 3D as we can, because a good matchmove and good 3D lighting base is a perfect base for the mattepainting.

This is a 2,5 D projection with cards in nuke. I comped the shot as well. Believe it or not, but in the end the little birds took longer than anything else in the shot!
